Meet God's Servant

Even before his birth, a word of prophecy had gone forth that ‘a son shall be born into the OluOmofe Family of Okoro Gbedde Ijumu, Kogi State, Nigeria; one ordained to take the Light of God to the nations of the world as a prophet’. At this time, his parents were prayer Partners of the revered Apostle Joseph Babalola, the charismatic Founder of the renowned Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), when this proclamation was made, and so quite naturally they attached the requisite importance to the prophecy.

Thus when Bank Jefferson was born, and in furtherance of the fulfillment of the earlier prophecy, he was given out to a village prophet for training, even at the very tender age of 12. And so began his walk and work with God, which has continued from that time till date.

A man who has completely surrendered his life to the LORD’S guidance, he had to forgo his thriving business in Kaduna (Northern Nigeria) to serve in the Ministry of David Oyedepo, Founding Bishop of Living Faith World Outreach, where under the direct/personal supervision of Bishop Oyedepo, he was formally trained and subsequently ordained a Pastor in 1986.

Consequent upon his employment with Living Faith, his first major assignment was the gargantuan task of starting Winners Chapel in Lagos; a task which without any doubt whatsoever, he discharged creditably. And following the monumental success of the take-off of Winners Chapel Lagos, as well as the eventual relocation of the Headquarters from Kaduna to Lagos, and just as he was settling to enjoy the fruits of his labour, the LORD directed him to resign his appointment with Winners Chapel, with a view to starting a fresh apostolic work – the work of showing mercy to a hurting world; hence MERCYWORLD OUTREACH INC.

It is also instructive to mention that at the time he left Winners, he prayerfully sought his formal release from the Presiding Bishop, Dr. David Oyedepo; a wish that was graciously granted with a Letter of Commendation and prayer for the new assignment. So he did not break-away, or leave with even a single member of the Congregation, except his wife, Patience. And from their living room in an obscure, overlooked and relegated part of town, the seed of MercyWorld Outreach Inc. was sown.

Indeed, when God commissions a Work, He backs it up with the Power of His Presence! No wonder, mind-blowing testimonies that can only be traceable to God’s Divine Hand, became an everyday occurrence: people certified dead, coming back to life; the blind regain their sight; the lame, walk; the barren become fruitful and many more life transforming happenings. Unsurprisingly therefore, that what started from that almost squalid enclosure of a sitting room, has today metamorphosed into an oak tree with a network of Churches and affiliates across the globe, to the glory of God most high.

A graduate of Business Administration, Jefferson, a Doctor of Divinity (DD), also holds a PhD in Christian Ministry. He is married to his darling wife, Patience – who doubles as the Co-Pastor in the Ministry – and the union is blessed with four wonderful Children: Topman, Christopher, Emmanuel and Princess Anita. The Jeffersons make their home in Lagos, Nigeria.
